This timepiece is from the Presage Cocktail Time collection, watches inspired by the Japanese cocktail culture in Tokyo’s sophisticated Ginza area, each named after a specific cocktail.
This particular design is named after ‘The Aviation’ cocktail – taking its blue/violet hues from the crème de violette ingredient.

In Japan, traditionally ‘Nomunication hour’ – a hybrid of nomu (drink) and communication – is after 5pm, when it’s cocktail hour and time to talk things over. The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time collection was inspired by this Japanese tradition of finishing the working day off with a cocktail and a chat – with each timepiece named after drinks mixed by Hisashi Kishi, head bartender and owner of Star Bar in Tokyo’s Ginza area and a past winner of the International Bar Association World Championships.

Seiko 5 Sports SKX Re-interpretation

First released in the 90s, the SKX Seiko 5 Sports watches were a modernised version of the classics – updating the reliability and durability of the 1960s originals. The 90s collection offered improved practicality – enhanced water resistance, strengthened crystals along with luminous hands and hour markers. These wearable, loveable values still stay strong in today’s modernised Seiko 5 Sports designs.

The bi-colour 24-hour bezel is coated in Hardlex, to ensure durability while the GMT hand improves practicality, visibility and legibility. The ‘beads of rice’ bracelet remains true to the SKX heritage with a ‘five-piece link’ design that forms a series of small X-shaped patterns.

Designed for practical international timekeeping, the GMT hand and high visibility hour markers, along with clear 24-hour bezel, mean multiple time zone calculations can be made at a glance, quickly and easily.

The hands and indices are coated in LumiBrite – fluorescent luminous paint which quickly absorbs light energy, glowing brighter and longer in partial light. LumiBrite starts glowing brightly in the dark and fades slowly.

Seiko 5 Sports is known for over fifty years of reliability, durability, performance and value.
‘’5’’ represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 still present today: Automatic movement, Day-date display, Water Resistance, Recessed crown and Durable case and bracelet

Accuracy -15/+25 seconds per day
Case Material Stainless steel (Super Hard Coating)
Case Diameter 42.65mm

This specific design is inspired by Seiko’s 1970 Diver’s 150m watch – worn by Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura from 1974 to 1976 during his solo dog sled from Greenland to Alaska, a journey of 12,500km.

This ‘Save the Ocean Special Edition,’ inspired by the ice of the North Pole, expresses the accumulation of time – linking the Antarctic history of Seiko diver’s watches with the time it takes for a glacier to form into its beautiful structure. The dial pattern and colour express the natural formations and pressure the glacier underwent during its long cooling period. Glaciers formed during the ice age, approximately 150 to 3 million years ago.

Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ These timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable within extreme or everyday environments, for experts, sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.
